  In recent years, artificial intelligence has accelerated its development and achieved a strategic breakthrough. Advanced manufacturing technologies and a new generation of artificial intelligence technologies have been deeply integrated to form a new generation of intelligent manufacturing.

  As China’s demographic dividend gradually disappears and raw materials and labor costs continue to climb, the competitive advantage of China’s manufacturing industry is gradually losing. At the same time, traditionally backward production management models have been unable to meet the increasingly diversified market demands. The development of China's manufacturing industry is facing severe challenges. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years, advanced manufacturing technologies and a new generation of artificial intelligence technologies have been deeply integrated, achieving a strategic breakthrough and forming a new generation of intelligent manufacturing.


  In 2017, the State Council issued a "New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" to comprehensively promote the integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing, and solve the problems faced by Chinese manufacturing in the process of promoting intelligent transformation. Under the dual promotion of policy guidance and technological development, artificial intelligence is gradually integrated into China's manufacturing industry, driving the intelligent transformation and upgrading of enterprises.

  The main feature of the new generation of intelligent manufacturing is that the manufacturing system has the ability to learn. It has been applied to the manufacturing field through deep learning, enhanced learning and other technologies. Revolutionary changes have taken place in the efficiency of knowledge generation, acquisition, use, and transmission, and innovation and service capabilities have been significantly improved.


Industry level


   Artificial intelligence is moving from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing in many ways, and injecting new momentum into the development of China's manufacturing industry that is "bigger and stronger." Artificial intelligence applications not only cover a number of traditional manufacturing industries such as textiles, metallurgy, and automobiles, but also involve strategic emerging industries such as robots, new energy, and high-end equipment manufacturing. At the same time, we must soberly realize that China's manufacturing industry still faces complicated situations.


   First of all, the development environment of the artificial intelligence industry is not yet mature, and it lacks industry standards and safety guarantee systems;


   Secondly, the digitization of manufacturing companies is too low, and digitization is the basis of intelligence. In addition, the lack of R&D capability is also the main reason why China's manufacturing industry is overall large and not strong.


   Third, the current artificial intelligence technology can only be regarded as weak artificial intelligence. The actual application of machine learning and deep learning technologies in manufacturing enterprises needs to be strengthened.


Application level


   Artificial intelligence technology is being applied to intelligent robots, image recognition, smart driving/autopiloting, speech recognition, quality monitoring, fault diagnosis, and predictive maintenance, covering research and innovation, quality control, fault diagnosis, and production. Management and other aspects.


   Artificial intelligence plays a role in manufacturing management, innovating production patterns, and increasing production efficiency and product quality. Artificial intelligence technology collects real-time information on production processes, process parameters, and equipment operating conditions through the Internet of Things. Under off-line conditions, it uses machine learning technology to mine the relationship between product defects and historical data of the Internet of Things to form control rules; In the state, through enhanced learning techniques and real-time feedback, the production process is controlled to reduce product defects; product quality and defects are detected and statistically measured; and at the same time, expert experience is integrated to continuously improve learning results.


   Artificial intelligence can intelligently guide complex processes. Taking product R&D design as an example, industrial design software, after integrating artificial intelligence modules, can interface with diverse data such as regional economy, social public opinion, and social media, as well as understand the needs of designers.    In the process of artificial intelligence application, manufacturing companies can't rush to achieve success, and must apply it in a down-to-earth manner to research, develop, break through, accumulate, and investigate their own practical application needs, combining existing software and hardware infrastructure, personnel technical conditions, and funding plans. How to use artificial intelligence technology and how to use good issues, only in this way can stimulate the true effectiveness of artificial intelligence, and ultimately achieve intelligent manufacturing.


   The fundamental purpose of integrating artificial intelligence into the manufacturing industry is to improve quality and efficiency and reduce costs. But for now, China's manufacturing industry and artificial intelligence have a long way to go. Manufacturers need to fully understand that artificial intelligence is not a panacea. It is merely a tool or method to promote the development of the manufacturing industry. If it cannot be combined with actual application requirements, it will inevitably lack the driving force for development.
